How to verify your profile with a selfie?

Verifying your profile on Fruitz helps increase your chances of matching and builds trust with other members. It's quick, easy, and gives you a verification badge that will be displayed on your profile.

Before You Start Verification

To verify your profile, you must have at least one photo of your face on your profile.
At least one of your profile photos must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be the only person in the photo
  • Your entire face must be visible
  • The photo must be taken facing the camera
  • Your face must be well lit
  • Your eyes must be clearly visible
  • You must not be wearing sunglasses
  • Photos with filters that modify or alter facial features are not accepted
  • The photo must be in portrait orientation (vertical)

💡 Why? Because your verification selfie is compared with your profile photos to confirm your identity.

A Few Tips Before Taking Your Selfie
📸 Optimise the Lighting
  • Choose a well-lit location (natural light is ideal)
  • Adjust your phone's brightness if needed
  • Avoid backlighting and glare

👤 Make Sure Your Face Is Clearly Visible

For your selfie to be successfully verified:

  • Face the camera directly
  • Make sure your entire face is visible and centred in the frame
  • Remove sunglasses, caps, hats, or any other accessories that cover your face

📱 Use the Correct Format
  • Your selfie must be taken in portrait orientation (vertical)
  • Selfies taken in landscape orientation (horizontal) will not be accepted

Verification Selfie Privacy
  • The selfie used for verification is only visible to our internal teams as part of the verification process.
  • It is never displayed on your profile and cannot be seen by other Fruitz members.
  • If you would like your verification selfie to be deleted, you will need to delete your Fruitz profile.

If You Experience Any Issues

If your verification is unsuccessful, you can contact our support team directly through the app.
